How to Choose a Beginner Surfboard

What beginners should ask about before renting or buying a board in Anza.

Beginner boards should feel stable, forgiving and easy to paddle. Volume, length and construction all matter, but exact dimensions should be matched to the surfer.

Tell the shop your height, weight, level and goal for the session. The team can then suggest whether a softboard or another shape fits.

Do not choose a board only because it looks fast. For first sessions, catching waves comfortably matters more.
